  • How would you create a PLN prior to engaging in a social media campaign on a topic of your choice?

It is very important to create a PLN before we engage in a social media campaign. It reminds me of the open discussion that I had in the law activity last week. At that activity, we discussed if Aboriginal people can could act to freely determine their political, economic, social and cultural development by determining legal issues within their own communities. I was in favor of that since I held the idea that they lived in their own organized society and their own traditional laws could give meaning and purpose to their lives. However, my group mates insisted that it was totally not advisable since it would make indigenous principles and traditions appear overly subjective and “non-legal” because of their social roles. Then the teacher provided us with a link on Twitter and asked us to leave positive comments with the “Aboriginal people” tag on.

I used my Twitter account and followed influencers of Aboriginal people. Social media sites are a great way to learn about the latest education-related news and breakthrough innovations. During that time, notifications and news about that were pushed to me everyday. These social networking sites are an effective method for continuous learning and communication.

When I posted my ideas on the link my teacher gave, I got replies with examples to support my ideas and limitations of my opinions. I really learned a lot during this social media campaign. It is true that creating my own content in PLN, sharing my thoughts and hot topics, and writing blog posts are all necessary to form a network. I regularly focus on how people innovate, then have a interaction with them and ask them questions. Also, I can leave a reply on others’ ideas, provide my own original ideas, and do everything possible to increase the value of PLN.
